Sketch Inspiration

Hi! If you have come to take part in:

click HERE.

I haven't had a giveaway for quite a long time, and all of a sudden I am having the blog hop, and the new look giveaway starting on March 1st.

A Martha Stewart bundle which contains: 12 neon glitter (4.4 oz. each),12 hexagonal glitter (.3 oz. each), 12 iridescent vintage leaf glitter (.14 oz. each) and 12 glittered flocking powder (.077 oz. each). The retail value of the bundle is around $80.

Now, I have a new giveaway going on!!! This week I am sponsoring Sketch Inspiration's sketch #8. This is the fabulous sketch created by Trisha:

And this is my take on it. There is a fond memory in those photos. We went to London's Little Angel Theatre to see one of their amazing plays; it is a tiny theatre with very small productions that are really fantastic. For a long time after we came back, Mia and Daddy would put on a caterpillar show for me, just like the one we'd seen. I cropped the photos for this layout, but in the background the photos showed my kitchen in Tripoli, which doesn't exist any longer, and it made me feel nostalgic. So many good memories in it!

Here is a picture of the prize you can win if you post your take on the sketch before midnight Saturday 26th (CST) at Sketch Inspiration's gallery.

Hope you find time to play!!!! And before I leave I am happy to announce one of my layouts was published in this month's SNR magazine. I had never actually peaked inside the magazine until now, and I am so glad I did. There are tons of fabulous layouts, cards, and mixed media projects, plus lots of tutorials, techniques and product reviews. I really enjoyed reading it and couldn't leave my iPad until I had finished it all up even though it was already VERY late. I recommend it to you if you are looking for crafty inspiration!

Layouts x 3!

I am so happy to be scrapping again this week! First of all, I added a double layout to my sister's wedding album. I started with this page, based on last week's Sketch Inspiration's sketch.

And then I added another page to the left, keeping the banner and the same kind of embellies.

Almost all the materials I used for these layouts were part of last month's Studio Calico kit. Loved the colours, and all the butterflies. I even decided to use the negative of the kraft butterflies in the layout!

And that was not all! I had some creative time to spare, so I made a layout for this week's fabulous DT challenge at Let's Scrap. I had to use something on the layout that was not a scrapbooking supply, so I used some stars that I got from hair bands. We have plenty of those at home!

I love the look of the tags as a background. I find it difficult sometimes to open a new pack of supplies and use it up on a single layout, like with these tags, but I think this was really worth it. If you want to play in this challenge, you have time until Thursday at midnight.

From this moment

I loved this week's sketch a at Sketch Inspiration as soon as I saw it. I wanted to use it for Challenge#13 at Let's Scrap Our Stash, but it was a monochromatic challenge, and that's not the feel I wanted for this photo, so, Challenge#13 is still part of my to-do list.

List of supplies
Patterned paper: Creative Imaginations
Rub-ons: Basic Grey, Karen Foster
Stickers: EK Success
Brads: K & Company
Ribbon: JBS kit
Mini alphabet: Lily Bee Designs
Glue: Glue Glider Pro, Making Memories

Bingo!

For today's Practical Scrapper's feature we had a bingo. Fun! Choose one of the lines and scrap using two of each element mentioned in that line. Only two, that was hard! It's not easy to include only two embellies of a kind. My line had: punches, ribbon, buttons.

I based this LO on Sketch Inspiration's sketch #230, and created another wedding page for the album. The title was chosen by my sister, the bride!

Today's elements for the recipe contest are: flower(s) and ribbon. There's still time to join the fun!

List of supplies:
Patterned paper: Studio Calico
Cardstock: Bazzill
Eyelet die cut: Making Memories
Ribbon: TPC Studio, assorted

Vintage pattern paper: JBS kit
Buttons: assorted

I'm SEW excited challenge!

This has been a very long weekend for us. DH was off work on Friday, and today, Monday, is also a holiday - Labour day, I think. This means little scrapbooking for me. On Friday we had lots of errands to run, on Saturday we travelled to the south of the island to see the mud volcanoes, and some other great places (so many pics, I'll never ever get to scrap half of them!!!!), and yesterday we had friends over to celebrate Father's day with a BBQ and swimming pool afternoon. Not that I'm complaining, I've had a great weekend, but I have had a sketch and pics printed since Thursday and only finished it this morning! I started working with Sketch Inspiration's sketch 224, and printed three photos for my sister's wedding album. They are photos of the dresses she tried on but didn't finally choose, and I loved the idea of including them in the album. I had bought a dress sticker especially for this page, but once I saw the photos, I knew I couldn't give them a formal look, so I had to look for something different. Then I saw the challenge at Moxie Fab World, to include sewing icons in a project, and I knew that would be just right for my page. So here is the final result, a little hard to photograph as the paper is very thin and the humidity outside makes it so soft it was hard to set it straight for the photo.

For the mannequin, I used the shape from an old Bo-bunny chipboard sheet as a stencil and painted it with acrylic. I wanted to give some texture to the acrylic, so I played a little with the paintbrush.

The other icons are from a set of charms at the Silhouette store. I printed one on cardstock and added paint and rose trim, I used one as a stencil to paint with acrylic on the paper, and I cut the other two in shrink plastic, though I didn't shrink it. I also stitched some swirls like the sketch showed.

I woke up in a very scrappy mood today, so I hope I can continue working on some of my DT projects for this week (DD and DH are in the pool right now, so that should give me some time!). I need to work on a Wordworld pinata for DD's birthday in the afternoon!!!
