Butterfly tutorial

Today I am sharing a tutorial at Pretty Little Studio, on how to embellish their fabulous butterfly stickers to make them even more fabulous. I used wire and beads, and this is what my embellished butterflies look like:

This week I have the honour of being Guest Designer at Pretty Little Studio. It has been a pleasure to work with their products, every little pack I opened was full of yummy stuff!!!! These are two sneak peeks of the layout I am sharing in their blog today:

It is not a 12 x 12 layout. It is not an 8.5 x 11 layout either. It is... well, you'll have to see it to understand what it is! If you'd like to check it out, click HERE. Then, come back and leave a comment here for a chance to win five of my favourite products from the Sandcastle collection. You have time to play until July 2nd. Here they are:

I know you will love them as much as I do! I will be sharing other projects this week, and one of them is a tutorial, so come back and check them during the week.

On a different note, it looks like the Art Studio @ Scrapbook News and Review will soon be back in shape; take a few minutes to check the fabulous classes there, I'm sure you will love them. Yes, yes, yes!!!!! Can you picture me doing a happy dance? That's what I am doing right now, and the reason for it is that The Art Studio @ Scrapbook News and Review has finally launched. I will just talk about my first class:

It is a class about one of my favourite scrappy things in the world: embellies!!! I will be teaching how to make five fabulous embellies that you can use on birthday projects again and again. Each class has step-by-step instructions, videos, cutting files and printable templates. For just $9.99 -the price of a couple pack of embellies - you'll discover techniques to make unique embellies every time you need them! Todos los materiales de la clase se encuentran disponibles tambien en español!!!

I am giving away one seat for my class at Practical Scrappers. And there is another seat to my class or lots of other wonderful classes to be won HERE. The class has a limited number of seats, however, so if you don't want to miss the chance to be a part of it, enroll yourself in Fabulous Handmade Embellies today. I guarantee a 100% refund if you win any of the free seats.

Para quienes deseen participar del sorteo de un lugar en esta clase, visiten Practical Scrappers. Allí basta con hacerse seguidores y dejar un comentario en el idioma que deseen con el nombre de su clase favorita en The Art Studio @ Scrapbook News and Review. I can't show them to you because you would have to buy the class to see them first, but I am sure you will enjoy them!!!!!

I hope you find some time to take part in the giveaway. I know you'll love the site, and I would be happy to share my class with you!

Find your creative bliss

Oh, the Wild Kratts party is finally over!!!!! It was a huge success, at least that is what I can tell from the kids at school who see me and say "Mia's mom, it was the coolest party ever!" We are totally exhausted but so worth it. No matter how far in advance you plan a party, you are always rushing at the last minute. My legs are still throbbing, let me tell you.
Anyway, party pics are coming soon, together with pinata instructions and some cool stuff like food signs. But today, I'd like to share with you a card I created for Practical Scrappers' birthday cards feature.

pop up hat

I love these hats, and I love the stamped numbers, too. Lucky I had someone turning 34 to give it to! I will be leaving Practical Scrappers soon and my heart is aching, I will certainly miss this absolutely fabulous and talented team. I really can't do everything I wish I could do, however, and I can't stay in a team and not give it 100%, so it is time to at least take a break. They are having a Design Team call at the moment, and if you are looking for a site where you will be working with fabulously talented people who encourage you to be creative and support you every step of the way, then this is the right team for you. You can click HERE for more information.

One more announcement before I leave: the Art Studio @ Scrapbook News and Review is almost ready to launch!!!! Have a look at this and then tell me how badly you want to check this fantastic site right now:

There are so many different classes for all interests and levels I am sure you will find something that is just perfect for you. And if you don't want to miss all the giveaways and special things coming with the launch, you need to visit Scrapbook News and Review and register today. You don't have much time left!

Pretty Little Studio plus Wild Kratts invitations and banner

I have just received a totally yummy pack from Pretty Little Studio to work on for my Guest DT posts. Wow! I got the sandcastle collection and it is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Just have a look at it:

Isn't it fabulous? I am like a kid in a candy store, opening little packs of embellies and thinking of an idea, then changing to a different pack and starting over again. If you are thinking of getting this beautiful collection for your summer pics,  you can click HERE. Living in the Caribbean, I never have enough summer themed supplies, so this is the right collection for me!

But, unfortunately, I can't spend the whole day scrapping away, as I have my  daughter's Wild Kratts' party to prepare. The pinata is almost ready (just missing the wheels of the Tortuga HQ) and I have finished and sent all the invitations. I made this tag:

And I added the birthday info on the back. Then I laminated them, used some twine to tie the tag to a plastic animal (a great way to get rid of some of those animals my daughter has not used in ages). Here is what they look like:

Now, let me tell you. These are not the best designed invitations I have made or the most elegant. But they are surely the most enjoyed! I gave them to their teacher a few minutes before the kids left to put in their backpacks and by the time they got to the bleachers to wait for their parents to collect them, they were all playing with them! And I got several called from parents to tell me how excited their kids were about the party.... now I just need to live up to their expectations.... not easy!

Another thing I have been working on is a banner to put behind the main table as decoration. I wanted to buy one of the lovely PBS ones, but for some reason the fact that my billing and shipping addresses are in different countries didn't let my purchase go through. So, it was time for me to work again. I have already designed the banner and taken it to the printers. I think the PBS problem actually saved me quite a lot of money. Here is the banner:

Now, if you are another poor soul trying to put together a Wild Kratts' party without any party supplies to be bought, and would like me to send you a copy of the tag (minus the cute little girl) or the banner (minus the writing), just send me an e-mail. My address is on the sidebar.

I will be posting an update on the tortuga pinata as soon as the wheels are on, and some other pictures from different party things, so keep coming back! And I won't be able to share my Pretty Little Studio projects yet, but it will be soon enough. And they will come with a giveaway, so you don't want to miss it!!!!

Fast and fabulous double pager

You may have been wondering why I have not posted as frequently as usual lately. There are two main reasons for that:

1.- I am trying to give the final touches to my first class at The Art Studio at Scrapbook News and Review, which will be launched very soon, and I can't post any of those layouts or videos here.
2.- I am working REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hard on my daughter's Wild Kratts birthday party. Almost finished the tortuga pinata I showed you some posts ago, but we now have invitations, favour boxes, decorations, and today I bought the most amazing tiger fabric for a tablecloth (yes, the guy looked at me a bit funny when I said it was for that!).

Still, I have managed to do some other scrapping for my guest post at Practical Scrappers. My post was a fast and fabulous layout, which can be put together really quickly with a pack of border stickers or some punched-our border. Here are some close-ups:

Fast fabulous scrapbooking

You have a look at the double pager, plus a more detailed description HERE. I am trying to take pictures of all the Wild Kratts stuff (when I remember) so as to make a post here, as my own search for ideas showed my how little there is around, even though it is a popular cartoon. And I think I will do some scrapping just for the sake of scrapping tomorrow. I am missing that.

Hope your week has had a fabulous beginning, and thank you for paying this blog a visit!
