Fast and fabulous double pager

You may have been wondering why I have not posted as frequently as usual lately. There are two main reasons for that:

1.- I am trying to give the final touches to my first class at The Art Studio at Scrapbook News and Review, which will be launched very soon, and I can't post any of those layouts or videos here.
2.- I am working REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hard on my daughter's Wild Kratts birthday party. Almost finished the tortuga pinata I showed you some posts ago, but we now have invitations, favour boxes, decorations, and today I bought the most amazing tiger fabric for a tablecloth (yes, the guy looked at me a bit funny when I said it was for that!).

Still, I have managed to do some other scrapping for my guest post at Practical Scrappers. My post was a fast and fabulous layout, which can be put together really quickly with a pack of border stickers or some punched-our border. Here are some close-ups:

You have a look at the double pager, plus a more detailed description HERE. I am trying to take pictures of all the Wild Kratts stuff (when I remember) so as to make a post here, as my own search for ideas showed my how little there is around, even though it is a popular cartoon. And I think I will do some scrapping just for the sake of scrapping tomorrow. I am missing that.

Hope your week has had a fabulous beginning, and thank you for paying this blog a visit!

This house is ready for Easter! My daughter started school again last Monday, only to find out that a HUGE number of kids were sick from a new virus that causes lots of fever, and her doctor advised we should keep her at home at least for this week, so she's back at home. Of course, now she is at home but she is feeling fine and has LOTS of energy, plus she is really bored from so many weeks without any friends, so it has not been the easiest of weeks... In the end, we started with her birthday party planning (months ahead) and planning the Easter egg hunt that her class will have next week. I will be going to the class with some mums before the trip to help the kids make baskets to put their eggs in, so we are getting all that ready (the bunny and ducky baskets will look so pretty!). I also want to make some cupcakes for them, and to make them look pretty I created some cupcake wrapper baskets I will show you later on. But first, a fifteen minute Easter layout!

corrugated

This was so easy to make! I just cut two paper strips, put some tulle and ribbon above (Can't see the tulle? I'll show a close-up below), and used almost the whole pack of these cute Imaginisce embellies to decorate. No, it is not the latest and bestest in scrapbooking design, but it came together in a few minutes and my daughter just loves it! Here is a close up of the tulle under the ribbon, a very girly touch:

And now the cupcake wrappers. To make them, I printed out this template, and added a handle, ribbons and embellies. They really look cute, and can be filled with a cupcake with green frosting and a couple of eggs, like the one in the front, or simply little eggs, like the ones in the back.

There are a ton of Easter projects at Practical Scrappers today, so if you are looking for inspiration, you'll surely find it there! And, if you have some time, could let me know if you are planning any Easter crafts? Would love to take a peek!

Pinterest challenge and Happy Go Lucky card

Hi! If you have come to take part in:

click HERE.

I have a couple of projects to share with you today. The first one is a card I created using Let's Scrap's sketch from last week. I have been meaning to create a crowded and layered banner for some time, and this was the right sketch for it:

The second project is a double layout. Oh, I find double pagers soooooo hard, but I need to finish my sister's album; I've been working on it for too long and I have just a few pages left, so I started going through my favourite sites for some mojo. I ended up playing with Club CK's February Pinterest Challenge, using this image for inspiration:

Here is my layout, I'm not sure if I love it or hate it, it changes every time I look at it (does that happen to you, too?), but at least it is done!

I tried to re-create the frames using cardboard, gesso and inks. There is some journalling space for my sister to complete, and a couple of tiny frames add an extra touch to the title. And only 8 pages to finish now!

Remember I am sponsoring this week's challenge at Sketch Inspiration, and giving away this lovely prize to a randomly picked winner. You need to go and play!!!!

Also, I will be having a big giveaway in March to celebrate my blog's new look with this fantastic prize so don't forget to come back once the contest starts and leave a comment for a chance to win!!!

Amigos - Double pager using Let's Scrap's sketch

Hi! If you have come to take part in:

click HERE.

Still working on my sister's wedding album. She has been patiently waiting for it, and I have finished 3/4 of the pages, which is a good number. Unfortunately, the time has come to scrap those pics I don't like and have left for last :). People and more people, many of them people I don't even know, sitting or standing by their tables. It is hard to make the mojo flow with them, and I have decided to make use of Let's Scrap fabulous double page sketches to ge them done once and for all! After that, I will only have the honeymoon pics and those are very nice, so it will be a breeze. This layout is based on this week's sketch at Let's Scrap:

It was a very easy sketch to work with, I just moved things around a little to have some more white space. I used We Scrap's January kit, Astoria, which I won in Let's Scrap's random draw some weeks ago, and added some stickers from the Simple Stories Yearography collection I got with my Scrap Room January kit. The papers in that collection are so well designed you just need to add a few pics and embellies and you have a fabulous looking page! I used two different coloured patterned papers, I know I've read somewhere a line from a scrapbooker saying she liked using different colours and then use some other elements to give the two pager continuity, and I thought it was a fab idea. I just wish I remembered where I read it. If you happen to know, let me know!
Back to scrapping now, my head's full of projects, more than my hands can put into practice!!! Remember I will be having a big giveaway in March to celebrate my blog's new look with this fantastic prize so don't forget to come back once the contest starts and leave a comment for a chance to win!!!

Woo hooo!!!!

Wooo hooo!!!! I have finally found a fellow scrapper who lives in the area and we are getting together to scrap!!!! I have missed my scrapping buddies (and friends) so much, I am really looking forward to our crop!!!!!!!!! I know, too many exclamation marks,  but I am that happy!!!!!!!!!!!
In the meantime, I'd like to share with you a very quick project I made this morning, based on this week's sketch at Let's Scrap, 11-23-11. Just a little bit of cutting, pasting and embellishing, a quick page for my sister's wedding album, which is getting thicker but is not much closer to getting finished....

Lots of Jillibean Soup paper, die cuts, alphabets and pins, together with a BG metal flower and MME buttons. Here is a close up of the layout. Love those buttons, and the pins are totally yummy.

Layouts x 3!

I am so happy to be scrapping again this week! First of all, I added a double layout to my sister's wedding album. I started with this page, based on last week's Sketch Inspiration's sketch.

And then I added another page to the left, keeping the banner and the same kind of embellies.

Almost all the materials I used for these layouts were part of last month's Studio Calico kit. Loved the colours, and all the butterflies. I even decided to use the negative of the kraft butterflies in the layout!

And that was not all! I had some creative time to spare, so I made a layout for this week's fabulous DT challenge at Let's Scrap. I had to use something on the layout that was not a scrapbooking supply, so I used some stars that I got from hair bands. We have plenty of those at home!

I love the look of the tags as a background. I find it difficult sometimes to open a new pack of supplies and use it up on a single layout, like with these tags, but I think this was really worth it. If you want to play in this challenge, you have time until Thursday at midnight.
